Marion Maréchal Le Pen gave birth to her second child

by time news

Pregnant during the legislative campaign, the vice-president of Reconquest, Marion Maréchal Le Pen, announced on Monday on Twitter gave birth to a baby girl. “Although I was not able to get involved in this legislative campaign as I would have liked, I received this weekend an additional reason to fight for France”, she indicated, in comment of a photo showing the birth bracelet of a little Clotilde, born on June 10. This is her second child.

The former FN deputy, who had joined the ranks of the Reconquest movement a few months before the first round of the presidential election, had announced that she would not campaign in the legislative elections because of her pregnancy. Many saw her retrying a seat in Vaucluse, a land she knows well for having been deputy for the 3rd district of the department between 2012 and 2017.

Reconquest totally absent from the second round

The former elected frontist had however presented herself this year as a substitute for candidate Stanislas Rigault, who came fourth in the 2nd constituency of Vaucluse, with 10.54% of the votes cast, despite strong support from Éric Zemmour. “We had a great campaign, we have nothing to be ashamed of, defended the leader of Generation Z. We are obviously paying for the divisions. Sylvie Viala (23%, Together!) and Bénédicte Auzanot (25%, National Rally) will face each other in the second round on this right-wing land.

The Reconquest movement suffered a frank defeat during this first round of legislative elections. Not a single candidate managed to stay in the second round. The lack of agreement with the National Rally also cost ex-presidential candidate Éric Zemmour dearly: the leader of Reconquête was eliminated in the first round, doubled by RN Philippe Lottiaux (23.19 % against 24.74%), qualified against the candidate of the presidential majority Sereine Mauborgne (28.51%).
