It was with surprise that the ‘Fanatics’ were informed, at the gates of the Marítimo Stadium, just minutes before the start of the match against Alverca, for the fifth round of the II Liga of football, that they could not enter with shirts referring to their support group.

“The PSP was ordered not to let in shirts from the ‘Fanatics’. They said that we either turned them inside out or we couldn’t enter,” explained Dinarte Andrade, the leader of the supporters’ group, to DIÁRIO.
The leader of the Marítimo supporters’ group assured that he is still shocked by the whole situation, stating that they have always followed the rules and, therefore, do not understand this decision.
“We are a respected group, made up of parents and children, workers, and yet we are treated as if we were delinquents. This is unacceptable. Someone needs to explain this situation,” he stated, assuring that the entire group was left outside the stadium.
The debut of Jorge Silas as the new coach of Marítimo did not start well, with the ‘green reds’ losing at home to Alverca, 0-2, at halftime.
