“It is very regrettable to have sneak photography of individuals who are already in a challenging situation. The parties are in dialogue, as previously mentioned – and have several practical matters that must be addressed after having lived together for an extended period,” writes the woman’s legal advisor, Mette Yvonne Larsen.
The images in Se og Hør show Crown Princess Mette-Marit’s son, Marius Borg Høiby, and what is alleged to be the offended woman in a car at Skaugum. According to the magazine, they have taken pictures of them both entering and exiting the gate at the Crown Prince Couple’s residence in Asker.
The photos are said to have been taken before the weekend – before both Høiby and the offended woman have been questioned by the police.
“This is not a sneak photo. This was taken in a completely natural place, and it is to be expected to be photographed at the gate of Skaugum in the situation one is in,” says the editor-in-chief of Se og Hør, Ulf André Andersen.
“We understand this is a great burden for especially the offended, but it is interesting what the status of their relationship is. It has great public interest, and that weighs heaviest in this matter.”
“The legal advisor says the parties are in dialogue and have several practical matters that need to be sorted out after having lived together?”
“Then it is fully possible for the legal advisor to have said that at an earlier time. We have asked for a comment, but she has responded that she has no comment.”

Se og Hør writes that they do not know if there were others present at the meeting at Skaugum. VG has inquired with the Palace whether the Crown Prince Couple was home, but has not yet received a response.
Skaugum Estate in Asker is the Crown Prince Couple’s home and also consists of twelve housing units where rental income goes to the Crown Prince’s personal enterprise. When VG asked about Høiby’s situation at Skaugum in 2022, the palace responded that he occupied one of these residences.
Marius Borg Høiby’s lawyer, Øyvind Bratlien, has not responded to VG’s inquiries.
VG has posed several questions to the Oslo police district regarding how they view such a meeting before the parties have explained themselves to the police. Press spokesperson Unni Grøndahl writes in an email that the police will provide more information later this week.
“The police are not commenting on this at present due to the investigation,” writes Grøndahl.
Høiby is charged with assaulting a woman in an apartment in Frogner in the early hours of Sunday, August 4. The woman and Høiby have been in a relationship.
The Crown Princess’s son was apprehended by the police the following day, charged with bodily harm and vandalism.
