(CNN) Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg won two medals at a Brazilian jiu-jitsu tournament held at a Silicon Valley high school on Saturday, adding to the tech leader’s extensive catalog of extracurricular activities.

Zuckerberg, 38, competed in the Woodside (California) BJJ Tour tournament. As confirmed by the BJJ Tour, he won the gold medal in the Nogi Master 1 Featherweight White Belt division and the silver medal in the Gi Master 2 Featherweight White Belt division.

“I participated in my first jiu-jitsu tournament and won some medals for the Guerrilla Jiu-Jitsu team,” shared Zuckerberg on Facebook. The post received more than 40,000 comments, including those from UFC fighter Conor McGregor and world jiu-jitsu champion Bernardo Faria.

In an August 2022 episode of the “Joe Rogan Experience” podcast, Zuckerberg said that jiu-jitsu helped him increase his energy and focus at work. He described this sport as “primitive”. He started practicing it during the pandemic.

His coach said he was inspired by the famed Facebook founder’s ability to keep learning new skills and take on challenges himself.

“Watching Zuck compete was epic,” said Kai Wu, Zuckerberg’s trainer. “No fight was easy and everything was won. It was an honor to be able to help as a coach and offer all the advice I could.”

Zuckerberg has set himself a series of annual challenges, including learning Chinese and giving up meat. He managed to deliver a 20-minute speech in Mandarin during his visit to Beijing Tsingua University in 2015.
