Regarding agricultural products, the stock of cereals and wheat covers three months of consumption and is constantly replenished and supported by imports, adds the same source, noting that national production of vegetables and fruits is sufficient to meet the needs. consumption needs during this period.
And to let it be known that in order to expand the supply of red meat on the national market, the process of importing cattle and sheep continues.
Thus, in order to accelerate the pace of sheep imports as part of preparations for Eid Al Adha, a subsidy operation set at 500 dirhams per head imported was launched, subject to a number of conditions. This operation aims to supply the national market with around 300,000 head of sheep.
On manufactured consumer goods, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce reported that markets are well supplied with available stocks of basic consumer goods such as sugar, edible oils, tea and rice. butter, covering two to three months of consumption.
Likewise, the Department of Energy Transition has confirmed that the national fuel stock varies between 30 and 118 days.
As for the evolution of prices, the reports completed by the members of the commission showed that the prices recorded in the different markets during this week experienced a series of declines, including at the level of certain vegetables such as as tomatoes, whose prices fell to around 7 dirhams, after increases during the previous week. The prices of some fruits, for their part, recorded a drop of between 2% and 7%.
The prices of white meats, for their part, saw a decline of more than 12%, the price of live poultry having fallen by 4 dirhams per kilogram compared to the start of Ramadan while the prices of eggs recorded a drop of more than 3%.
Furthermore, the prices of other items remained stable, with the exception of the price of fish which has started to rise relatively again given recent climatic conditions.
The control bodies of the various departments will continue their work on a regular basis even after the end of the holy month of Ramadan, in order to ensure the normal functioning of the markets and to fight against all forms of fraud, monopoly and speculation that could harm to the interests of consumers.
