Marl (NRW) – A cinema film as a lifelong dream: The self-taught Maik Große Lochtmann (48) wrote a script for an action film together with a colleague over many years. In order for the planned road movie to become reality, someone has to shell out six to eight million euros in production costs.

Robert de Niros (80) voice actor Christian Brückner (80), acting greats such as Herbert Knaup (67, “The Office”) and “Tatort” star Martin Brambach (56) and live music from hit producer Laith Al-Deen ( 51): With an unusually top-class staged reading with music on November 18th in the Marl Theater, the Schermbeck author now wants to find a producer for his self-written script.

The film with the title „No man’s road“ takes place in the Ruhr area, in Görlitz and on a Dutch North Sea island. However, there is currently no financier to cover the production costs.

Große Lochtmann works as a production manager at WDR. The script, co-written with Dorsten crime writer Dirk Kubowicz (55), is a personal project that he has worked on repeatedly for over 14 years. The script is read from. The artists perform free of charge, the proceeds go to a mobile children’s hospice in Recklinghausen.

The film is complex. “A lot of things break along the way,” says Große Lochtmann – hence the production costs. The search for producers has been going on for a long time. Große Lochtmann had already tried to draw attention to himself with a reading in Marl in autumn 2022 – with a sold-out house and lots of applause, but without a film manager with a fat wallet.

Herbert Knaup was already beating the drum to BILD at the time: “This film would be an important color in the cinema landscape. The story grabbed me, is surprising, cheeky and dark at the same time.”

This year’s event is also sold out except for a few tickets. It will take place on November 18th at 8:15 p.m. in the Theater Marl. The tickets cost between 15 and 22.50 euros.
