Hungarian Game Show Host Announces Departure, Expressing Mixed Emotions
A popular Hungarian television personality announced his departure from the show “I love you!,” expressing both disappointment and acceptance of the decision. Csaba Pindroch revealed the news on his Facebook page on Wednesday, explaining that the change was not his choice but one imposed upon him.
The presenter, who had helmed the program for four years after taking over from Szente Vajk, acknowledged the unexpected nature of the shift. “I wasn’t happy about it, but I accepted it,” Pindroch wrote, echoing a sentiment he repeated throughout his post. He indicated that despite his personal feelings, he respected the decision and would fulfill his commitments through the end of the year.
Pindroch reflected fondly on his time with the show, describing the experience as more akin to “play – in the noblest sense of the word” than work. Over 158 broadcasts, he shared, he felt fortunate to have connected with “legends from my childhood and today.”
The announcement extended beyond Pindroch’s own departure, revealing that team captains Bernadett Vágó and Zoltán Miller would also be leaving the program. He described the trio’s immediate connection as blossoming into a genuine friendship, stating, “We formed an alliance with Berni and Zoli at the first moment, which quickly turned into a real friendship… I fell in love with Them!”
Pindroch also extended his gratitude to the show’s crew, praising their professionalism, kindness, and dedication. He highlighted the birth of his fourth child during the show’s run, noting that “love and kindness were the guiding principles” throughout its production. He concluded with a heartfelt thank you to viewers for their support and wished the incoming team success.
“From January, it will be led by others – I wish them much success and joy –,” Pindroch stated, “but we will still be there by the end of the year, look for us! Hungary, I love you!”
