A panic arose among rugby fans who came to watch the France-Italy match in one of the neighborhood establishments. Several detonations rang out this Friday evening around 10:30 p.m. in a neighborhood adjoining the Old Port of Marseille, according to our colleagues from Provence. The shootings were carried out with a 9mm handgun, according to BFM TV.

A 20-year-old young man was shot and injured several times in the thigh. The victim was taken care of by the emergency services, his vital prognosis is not in jeopardy. The shooter immediately fled. The CRS, stationed in the area on the evening of the match, secured the premises for the evening and searched for the perpetrator of the shooting. The police chief is also on site.
The victim is known to the police for several crimes. According to witnesses at the scene, interviewed by Provence, the victim was not a customer of the establishment near which the shots were fired. He was alone, near the terrace, before an individual with a masked face approached him. “They got confused in two seconds, and the hooded man fired and fled,” a witness told the local daily.
