An 18-year-old young man, stabbed “at the level of the heart” during a brawl in a city in the working-class neighborhoods of Marseille (Bouches-du-Rhône), died on Sunday evening, AFP learned on Monday from a police source, confirming information from La Provence.
The victim, taken to task in a fight, was stabbed before being “left for dead” by the other participants in the brawl around 4:40 p.m. Sunday in the city of La Sauvagère (10th arrondissement), in the south-east. of the city, according to the same source.
The marine firefighters intervened in the process and revived the young man in cardio-respiratory arrest before taking him to the hospital. He died there around 7 p.m. An investigation is underway. The alleged perpetrators are currently being sought.
A month ago, a 22-year-old man was found dead, shot dead in the 3rd arrondissement of Marseille. The condominium where the homicide took place had already been the scene of violence on September 1: a man had been hit by nine bullets and hospitalized in serious condition, while another 18-year-old was discovered nearby with stab wounds.
