Girona actor Martí Peraferrer puts himself in the shoes of Russian choreographer and dancer Rudolf Nureyev in his new show, released a few days ago to the Great Theater of the City of Puebla, to Mèxic. The show, dubbed as The last voyage of Rudolf Nureyev, closes the trilogy that the performer started with monologues focused on the lives of Vicent Van Gogh and Tennessee Williams, “trying to explain his vision of the true engine of artistic creation,” he explains.

“All the great universal artists who have generated a great work, in whatever discipline, usually have one thing in common. They have almost always started from pain, from doubt, from inner suffering, from imbalance, from the same personal and social contradictions. From the point of view of comfort, wealth, flattery, having everything, the creative fact of a genius never appears, ”says Peraferrer.

Rudolf Nureyev’s Last Voyage is a co-production of the Girona company El Teatre Blau and the FITSA International Festival, in the city of Puebla. In this production, Martí Peraferrer works on stage with Fernando Domínguez, a contemporary dance dancer from Puebla, and Adonai Palacios as assistant director.

Peraferrer points out that the premiere has been taken as “A theatrical laboratory far from the comfort of home”with a proposal «multidisciplinary and a more visual, poetic and transgressive theatrical language, very different from what I have produced so far» which, he hopes, can also be seen in Girona.
