jpnn.com – CENTRAL LOMBOK – Pramac Ducati racer Franco Morbidelli was the fastest racer in free practice 1 (FP1) of the Indonesian MotoGP at the Mandalika Circuit, Central Lombok, NTB, Friday (27/9) morning WIB.
Jorge Martin’s teammate recorded a time of one minute 30.689 seconds, yet to break the best lap record in Mandalika set by Luca Marini, which was recorded in 2023.
Morbidelli did seem most enthusiastic about doing free training.
A number of racers, including last year’s champion in Indonesia, Francesco Bagnaia, seemed reluctant to show off his motorbike’s abilities in FP1.
Pecco seemed to feel like the track wasn’t in good enough condition to learn anything.
The owner of motorbike number 1 was probably reflecting on previous training in other classes (Moto3 and Moto2), where many victims fell. A number of riders fell at Turns 4, 11, 12 and other corners.
Pecco’s best time in FP1 MotoGP Indonesia 2024 was +1.105 from Morbidelli.
Pecco was 14th.
