Martin Garrix Announces Debut Album Marty Featuring Madonna and U2

Dutch electronic music icon Martin Garrix has announced that his 14-track debut pop-dance album, Marty, will arrive on March 5, 2027, through STMPD RCRDS and Darkroom Records, featuring high-profile collaborations with Madonna, U2, Ed Sheeran, and Aitana.

Martin Garrix Unveils Marty at an Intimate Amsterdam Homecoming

More than a decade after breaking out with the global hit Animals in 2013, Martin Garrix is stepping out of the traditional electronic dance music box. The superstar producer revealed the release date for his upcoming album, Marty, during an intimate event in Amsterdam kick-starting the Amsterdam Dance Event. Playing a secret set at P60 in Amstelveen—the very venue where he performed his earliest shows—Garrix treated top Spotify listeners and hometown friends to an early listen of unreleased tracks from the project.

The event was a full-circle moment many artists dream of, noted Nick Kardan, Partnerships Manager at EDM.com, who was onsite for the hometown performance.

Named after his childhood DJ moniker, DJ Marty, and referencing his early slogan Party with DJ Marty, the 14-track LP functions as an autobiographical lifecycle. The record traces his journey from his childhood bedroom production roots through global festival stardom and into philosophical territory exploring the concept of eternal love. The opening track, Catharina, serves as a personal tribute to his mother.

Even though I’ve been doing this for most of my life, I still feel like I’m just at the beginning. That’s really what this album is about – growth, moving through different chapters of life, and understanding that the love we give and the energy we put out into the world don’t just disappear when we’re gone. I want to take people with me on that journey and let them experience all those different stages of growth alongside me.

Collaborations With Madonna, U2, and Ed Sheeran Shape the Tracklist

While Garrix is known for massive festival anthems—such as his 2022 club album Sentio—Marty marks a distinct stylistic pivot into pop-dance territory. The album features a heavy-hitting roster of guest artists. Additional past collaborative works in his catalog include 2019’s Summer Days with Macklemore and Fall Out Boy’s Patrick Stump, 2017’s Scared to Be Lonely with Dua Lipa, and 2015’s Don’t Look Down with Usher. Spanish singer Aitana is featured on Garrix's first Spanish-language song.

Stepping far outside his comfort zone, Garrix also provides his own vocals on four of the album’s songs. Prompted by encouragement from U2 frontman Bono—who coached him on vocal delivery and co-wrote lyrics—the producer decided to preserve his own voice on several personal tracks, including This Dream Of You and Catharina.
