The Center Party is the party with which EKRE managed to form a government, and there is no reason to wish it failure, but both candidates for the new chairmanship seem weak, said Estonian Conservative People’s Party leader Martin Helme, ERR reports.
Commenting on the forthcoming election of a new chairman of the Center Party and answering a question from an ERR journalist about who the EKRE leader considers the best possible partner – Tanel Kiik or Mihail Kõlvart – Helme noted that each party must go through its own internal processes.
“But it is clear that the Center Party is the party with which we managed to form a government. I have no reason to wish her failure. But when I look at the choice they have now, both options seem rather weak,” Helme said.
According to Helme, if the Center Party is headed by Mihail Kõlvart, everything he says will make the party oriented towards Tallinn and Ida-Virumaa.
