Al-Marsad Newspaper: Mashael, 23, told the story of her narcolepsy since she was in high school.

Mashael said in a video she posted on the government communication page: I was the first to get in the car to sleep, and when I got out of school at noon I slept. I fell asleep in class at class time, even in a sleepy public place.

And she continued: More than half of my life went to sleep. I hated my studies because of sleeping sickness, and I searched for a doctor for sleep disorders.

She added: I hated myself, I did not like to go out, I did not like meetings, and I did not want to go, so that people would not laugh at me.

Directed to the doctor

She indicated that one of her friends in the Faculty of Medicine brought her a note from King Saud Medical University and continued: I was feeling paralyzed and muscles relaxed when angry, so I cried at the time when the doctor asked me and followed up with him until I fully recovered and returned to my normal life.

For his part, Dr. Ahmed Bahmam explained that the disease causes bouts of drowsiness, insomnia, and involuntary movements during sleep, and affects the injured in their academic achievement, some of whom are distinguished by intelligence, indicating that the sleep disorders department was introduced to King Saud Hospital 25 years ago.
