Doha: The Qatari cabinet has decided to tighten controls in the wake of reports of a proliferation of Kovid cases and a new variant of Omicon. A cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdul Aziz Al Thani on Wednesday decided to tighten Kovid controls in the country.

As part of this, the mask was made mandatory. It was decided to make the mask mandatory everywhere by removing the concessions already given in public places. With this, the mask wear was tightened both indoors and outdoors. The cabinet said the new proposal would come into effect from Friday.

At the same time, athletes who train in public places are exempted from wearing masks. Participation in outdoor events, such as conferences, exhibitions, and other public events, was reduced to 75 percent. 50 Admission to 50% of events held indoors. The ministry also directed that Kovid regulations be strictly adhered to in such events.
