The winner of the snap presidential elections held in Iran was a representative of the “reformist” camp, Masoud Pezeshkian.
As reported by Day.Az, this was stated by the representative of the Election Headquarters at the Iranian Ministry of Internal Affairs, Mohsun Eslami.
According to him, a total of 30.5 million voters took part in the elections held yesterday. The voter turnout in the second round of elections was 49.8 percent.
Eslami said that Masoud Pezeshkian received about 16.4 million votes, while Said Jalili received 13.5 million votes.
It should be noted that the second round of the 14th presidential elections was held in Iran yesterday. In connection with the presidential elections in Iran, 58,640 constituencies were created within the country and 344 constituencies outside it. 61,452,321 voters were able to vote.
In the 14th presidential elections held in Iran on June 28, 24.5 million voters took part in the first round of voting. According to the voting results, former Minister of Health and representative of the “reformist” camp Masoud Pezeshkian gained 10.4 million votes, representative of the spiritual leader of Iran in the Supreme National Security Council Saeed Jalili – 9.47 million votes, Chairman of the Iranian Parliament Mohammad Baghir Ghalibaf – 3.38 million votes, and former head of the interior and justice ministries, conservative Mustafa Pourmohammadi – 206 thousand votes.
