Mass solidarity movement march with ‘Mathal’ symbol after getting registration
The Ganasanhit Andolan has received the registration of the Election Commission (EC) as a political party. The group under the leadership of Junaid Saki has been registered under the provisions of the Representation of the People Order-1972 (Chapter 6A). Mathal is the symbol of the party. Registration number is 53.
Election Commission Secretary Shafiul Azim handed over the party’s registration certificate to a delegation of the Mass Solidarity Movement on Tuesday (17 September).
In the registration gazette signed by Election Commission Secretary Shafiul Azim, it is said that in view of the judgment and order given in the writ petition of the High Court Division of Bangladesh Supreme Court on April 11, 2019, the mass solidarity movement is not re-ordered as per the provisions of ‘The Representation of the People Order, 1972 Chapter 6A’. Bangladesh Election Commission has registered as a political party.
It is known that the Mass Solidarity Movement applied to the Election Commission on December 28, 2017 for registration as a political party. However, EC did not register then. A writ was filed against this in the High Court. On September 10, the application filed by the Election Commission in the Appellate Division against the judgment of the High Court was withdrawn. On the same day, the secretary of the Election Commission Secretariat issued a public notice with a 6-day period to see if anyone has any objections regarding the party. Today the EC registered the mass solidarity movement.
