Muscat: Three expatriates were arrested in a massive drug bust in Oman. Coast Guard police boats arrested three expatriates who tried to enter Musandam Governorate with drugs. Asians were arrested. 470 kg of various types of drugs were seized from them. Seizures include opium, pills and hashish. The Royal Oman Police has informed that the legal proceedings against the arrested persons are being completed.

Apartment fire in Oman; Seven people were rescued
Muscat: The Civil Defense and Ambulance Authority said that the fire in an apartment in Oman has been brought under control. A multi-storey building caught fire in the Salala Oukhad area of Dhofar Governorate. A statement issued by the Civil Defense also says that seven people who were trapped in the building at the time of the fire were rescued from there. Their health status is satisfactory.

Saudi Navy inspects Gulf of Oman; 3,330 kg of drugs were seized
Riyadh: A special task force of the Saudi Royal Navy has captured a boat that was smuggling drugs in the Gulf of Oman. During the inspection, 3,330 kg of hashish and heroin were seized.
A drug collection estimated to be worth more than two million dollars was seized from the boat. The task force, which has been patrolling the sea since 2018, has foiled several drug smuggling attempts in the past. In the first operation conducted in October 2020, more than 450 kg of the drug known as crystal meth was seized.
Two more operations were performed in November of that year. In the first operation, the boat was intercepted and 1,579 kg of hashish and in the second operation, 456 kg of amphetamine and 364 kg of heroin were seized from the boat. Two drug raids were conducted in the Arabian Sea in December as well. In the first operation, 910 kg of hashish, 182 kg of amphetamine and 272 kg of heroin were seized in the second operation.
