The fire broke out around 14:40 and was heading away from the settlement, while there were no strong winds in the area.
According to the Fire Service, although the area has burned in the past, it has now fully regenerated resulting in dense vegetation cover.
At the scene, 73 firefighters are operating with 5 groups of walking units, 16 vehicles, 7 aircraft, and 4 helicopters.
Support is provided by municipal water tankers and construction machinery.
