For Pietro, from Palermo, it is undoubtedly called arancina

It is one of the issues on which a solution will probably never be found: do you say “arancino” or “arancina”? Sicily is divided in two: who chooses the male, who the female. For Pietro, an amateur chef who aspired to enter the MasterChef Italia Masterclass (yesterday the two new episodes on Sky and streaming on NOW, always available on demand), the Palermo origin admits no doubts: for him it is called “arancina”. The assist given to him by the judges during the final challenge – recovering an almost unusable food, in his case overcooked rice – did not have the effect Barbieri hoped for: the arancina did not arrive. But despite this, Pietro made it: he is among the 20 members of the Masterclass, which from next Thursday 30 December (at 9.15 pm on Sky and streaming on NOW) together with judges Bruno Barbieri, Antonino Cannavacciuolo and Giorgio Locatelli will kick off to the first real challenge of this season of MasterChef Italia
