1. Start with the basics:
If you’re not sure where to start, use neutral colors as a base. Colors like white, beige, tan, mink, brown, blue, black, gray are easy to combine and always look good.
If you’re on a budget, neutral colors are a great option. For example, pair a white shirt with dark blue jeans. This outfit is simple yet effective, and you can add a dark-colored belt and black shoes to complete the look.
2. Add a touch of color
Once you have a base of neutrals, add a more vibrant color to liven up your outfit.
For example, you can wear an olive green t-shirt (this season’s color) with a tan/brown jacket and beige pants. Accessories: a tan belt and tan shoes. This mix is easy to achieve with basic garments and adds a touch of effortless style.
3. Use the color wheel
The color wheel is an excellent tool for understanding how to combine colors. Opposite colors on the wheel (complementary colors) such as blue and orange or red and green create striking combinations.
For example, combine a pink shirt (red with more white) with dark green trousers (green with more black). Complete the look with a belt and shoes in dark tones and green tights.
This mix ensures that your outfit is pleasing to the eye, has a bit of casual style, even if it is formal.
With these tips, I hope you feel more confident when it comes to combining colors in your outfits. Remember that practice makes perfect, so don’t hesitate to experiment and find the combinations that you like the most and that make you feel emotionally comfortable.
