Match schedule of India-Sri Lanka series announced, final match of ODI series to be played in Thiruvananthapuram

Mumbai: The fixtures for the India-Sri Lanka T20 and ODI series to be held in January have been announced. Sri Lanka’s tour of India, which begins with the T20 series on January 3, consists of three T20 matches and three ODIs. The final ODI of the series will be played at Kariyavattam Greenfield Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram.

The first T20 match will be played in Mumbai on January 3. The second T20I will be played in Pune on 5th and the third T20I will be played in Rajkot on 7th. Damathil Gohti will be the venue for the first match of the ODI series. The second ODI will be played in Kolkata on the 12th and the third ODI in Thiruvananthapuram on the 15th.

The series against Sri Lanka comes after the ODI and Test series against Bangladesh. Captain Rohit Sharma is in doubt to play against Sri Lanka after injuring his finger while fielding in the second ODI series against Bangladesh.

Young opener Umran Malik will also make his Test debut as Rohit’s replacement in the Test series.

Apart from Sri Lanka, the BCCI has also announced the schedule of series against New Zealand and Australia. After the series against Sri Lanka, India will play three ODIs and three T20Is against New Zealand from January 18. Nagpur, Delhi, Dharamsala and Ahmedabad will be the venues for the Test series against Australia starting from February 9.
