Anderlecht travel to Mechelen this evening. As expected, Mathias “Zanka” Jorgensen will be there.

Brian Riemer made no secret of it at the press conference: after arriving at Sporting barely 48 hours ago, Zanka will start this afternoon, behind the Mechelen barracks. The Danish coach knows their new recruit well from spells with FC Copenhagen and Brentford.

The 34-year-old defender has only had two training sessions in his legs but he will be there. It is therefore not surprising to find him in the selection that Anderlecht expressed.

Apart from Jan Vertonghen, a victim of Achilles tendon strain but soon to return, there are no major absences.

Loving Lapage more than Nunzio Engwanda

Youngsters Nathan De Cat and Nunzio Engwanda, two who were on the bench against Leuven last weekend, are coming out of the selection. Both started last night in the first game of the RSCA Futures in D1B.

On the other hand, Amando Lapage is brought up for the first time this season. The 19-year-old central defender, grandson of Paul Van Himst, was included in the squad eight times last season.
