Mawazine 2024: Badr Rami offers the public an anthology of Tarab

Badr Rami, son of the famous Syrian violinist maestro Mohamed Rami Zeitouni, plunged the audience into a festive atmosphere with his tenor voice, masterfully interpreting songs inspired by the same musical style of the great Sabah Fakhri.

Between “Wahachtini”, “Ala Babi Waef Amarein”, “Nassam Alayna Lhawa” and even “Qol Lil Malihati”, Badr Rami captivated the unconditional Tarab fans, who came to attend the show of one of the most eminent figures of the contemporary Arab music scene.

In perfect symbiosis, enthusiasts and fans had the opportunity to happily cover all the titles performed by the singer, who took them on a unique journey to rediscover the Syrian musical repertoire.

Alternating elaborate scores, researched lyrics and melodies weighed with a trebuchet, the Syrian artist, born in Morocco, will have demonstrated all his mastery on stage, by interpreting the Tarab masterpieces of the great tenors of Arab music, such as Oum Kalthoum, Mohamed Abdelwahhab, Abdelhalim Hafed, Wadie Safi, and many others.

An accomplished artist, who cultivates the sense of navigating with ease between different musical styles, Badr Rami has once again given the full measure of his talent, by covering “La Bohème” by Charles Aznavour in his own way.

The Moroccan song was not left out for Badr Rami, who considers himself a “Moroccan at heart”. And for good reason: the ambassador of the Mouwachahates commanded the admiration of the public with the interpretation of “Ya Bent Bladi” by the great Abdessadek Chakara.

To end in style, the artist, draped in national colors, sang with his audience “Sawt Lhassan”, the cult song dear to the hearts of all Moroccans. His way of showing his attachment to Morocco and its people, to thunderous applause.

Torchbearer of Aleppo Tarab, Badr Rami contributes with his voice, his soul and his presence to the preservation of this ancestral musical heritage.

He began his career at the end of the 90s, before opting, in the footsteps of the great tenors, for a noble style which made him famous on the contemporary Arab artistic scene.

Placed under the High Patronage of HM King Mohammed VI, the Mawazine Rythmes du Monde festival is making its comeback from June 21 to 29, 2024. Created in 2001 at the initiative of the Maroc Cultures association, the festival has become over the years editions an unmissable event for music lovers.
