The 31-year-old American successfully defended his title at the Fortinet Championship in California.

American Max Homa won the Fortinet Championship, counting for the USPGA, for the second consecutive year on Sunday, taking the advantage over Briton Danny Willett who collapsed on the last hole.

Homa returned a -4 card on the Silverado Resort course in Napa, Calif., for -16 total (272) after four rounds and one shot ahead of Willett, who missed an easy one-yard putt at 18, thus missing the victory.

«It was a bit of a weird endgame“, admitted Max Homa, nevertheless satisfied with his game.

Danny Willett is still looking for a victory on the American circuit (USPGA) after his triumph in 2016 at the Masters and two victories on the DP World Tour.

However, he seemed ready to win on Sunday at the 18th when his third shot had placed him less than 1.5 m from the flag while Max Homa ended up in a bunker.
