Max releases the first trailer for the second season of The Last of Us

The streaming platform, MAXlaunched the first trailer of the second season of The Last of Us.

This Thursday, September 26, as part of the celebration of The Last of Us day, the streaming service owned by Warner Bros. Discovery, MAX, decided to celebrate the day with great fanfare, after sharing with its users and fans of the successful series based on the video game developed by Naughty Dog for PlayStation consoles, the first trailer for the second season of The Last of Us.

The 1:57 min trailer shows us Ellie’s emotional performance of Take on Me by Dina, Abby’s encounter with the infected outside of Jackson, and the tense situation that Ellie and Joel will have.

Likewise, we can see the Seraphites, the dangerous religious sect of Seattle, which will be present from this season and not from the third, as had been speculated, an important point to cover the entire journey of both Ellie and Abby.

“After five years of peace following the events of the first season, Joel and Ellie’s collective past catches up with them, dragging them into a conflict between them and a world even more dangerous and unpredictable than the one they left behind,” the synopsis states.

When does the second season premiere?

This installment, which will be made up of seven chapters, will hit the screens in 2025, on a date yet to be determined.

The cast that will be included in this season, which will take as a starting point the sequel released in 2020, includes Pedro Pascal as Joel, Bella Ramsey as Ellie, Gabriel Luna as Tommy and Rutina Wesley as María.

The previously announced new cast includes Kaitlyn Dever as Abby, Isabela Merced as Dina, Young Mazino as Jesse, Ariela Barer as Mel, Tati Gabrielle as Nora, Spencer Lord as Owen, Danny Ramirez as Manny and Jeffrey Wright as Isaac. Catherine O’Hara will guest star.
