My visit to Azerbaijan follows on from the recent visit to Baku of the head of the Russian government and in the development of his intensive negotiations with the President of Azerbaijan.

As Day.Az reports on Thursday, the Minister of Economy of the Russian Federation Maxim Reshetnikov said this at a briefing in Baku.

“Today we have already held discussions in several areas in development of the agreements reached at the meeting between the President of Azerbaijan and the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation that took place recently,” he noted.

According to Reshetnikov, in Baku he discussed issues of mutual investment and trade growth.

“Our trade is growing. Certain issues arise, which we systematically discuss and remove a number of barriers,” the Russian minister said.

He noted that among the topics are the effectiveness of the development of transport corridors and the development of tourism.

“Mutual flows of tourists are growing. But a number of steps are needed to promote them, resolve issues with payments, use the tourism potential of the Caspian Sea. In general, we have a progressive development of economic relations. This is a driver for the growth of the well-being of our peoples,” Reshetnikov noted.
