Maxsun Prepares November NAS Boards
Maxsun is preparing to launch two new Mobile on Desktop motherboards built around Intel processors, targeting network attached storage systems, according to Wccftech.
Both products, designated as the SK-PTLNAS and SK-WCLAIO, were initially showcased at Computex 2026 and are expected to arrive in November.
MoDT designs involve soldering laptop-class mobile processors directly onto dedicated desktop motherboards. The two upcoming Maxsun models cater to different tiers of NAS setups, ranging from high-end expansion capabilities to compact, low-power efficiency.
SK-PTLNAS Motherboard Supports Intel Panther Lake Processors
The higher-end SK-PTLNAS motherboard measures 244 × 244 mm and uses a white printed circuit board. It supports Intel Panther Lake Core Ultra Series 3
processors up to the Core Ultra 9 386H.
This flagship chip packs 16 CPU cores and four Xe3 integrated graphics cores, featuring a 25W base power rating that scales up to an 80W maximum turbo power, as reported by Digital Citizen. Power is delivered through an 8-pin CPU connector and a 24-pin ATX connector, backed by a 6+4 phase power delivery configuration.
Memory support relies on two SO-DIMM slots capable of accommodating up to 128GB of DDR5 RAM at speeds reaching 7200 MT/s. Storage connectivity is extensive.

It features five M.2 NVMe slots—comprising two PCIe 5.0 x2, one PCIe 4.0 x2, and two PCIe 4.0 x1 connections—alongside three SFF-8643 Mini SAS connectors and a full-length PCIe 5.0 x8 expansion slot.
Networking hardware includes a 10Gb Ethernet port powered by an AQC113-B1-C controller and a 2.5Gb Ethernet port utilizing an I226-LM controller.
Additional input-output options include dual Thunderbolt 4 Type-C ports supporting display output and 40 Gbps data transfers, plus HDMI, DisplayPort, and eDP display outputs. Operating systems supported include Windows 11 and Ubuntu.

SK-WCLAIO Model Features a Smaller Footprint and Core 7 350
The smaller SK-WCLAIO model has undergone a substantial redesign since its initial prototype phase, shrinking to a 90 × 165 mm footprint compared to earlier micro-ATX layouts.
It is powered by Intel’s Core 7 350 processor from the Wildcat Lake lineup, which features six cores configured as two performance cores and four low-power efficiency cores.
The processor includes two Xe3 integrated graphics cores. The CPU operates at a 15W base power rating with a maximum turbo power of 35W, and the system is powered by a 4+2 phase VRM.
Memory capacity on the compact board is limited to a single SO-DIMM slot supporting up to 48GB of DDR5 memory running at 6400 MT/s.

The SK-WCLAIO integrates 1TB of onboard UFS 3.1 storage alongside four M.2 M-Key NVMe slots. Networking capabilities are highlighted by a 10Gb Ethernet port.
The updated specifications also list dual Thunderbolt 4 Type-C connections, HDMI and DisplayPort outputs, and USB-C Power Delivery compatible with a 100W power adapter.
System power draw is rated at 45W during active operation and drops to 16W when drives are on standby.
Both motherboards provide 10Gb Ethernet connectivity to accommodate high-speed file transfers across compatible network environments, but Maxsun has not yet disclosed official retail pricing for either model ahead of their scheduled November release.
