jpnn.com – JAKARTA – Indonesian President-elect Prabowo Subianto invited workers to fight together to realize Indonesia’s vision of becoming a developed country which is also called Golden Indonesia 2045. Prabowo said that Indonesia’s brilliant future can only be realized with the cooperation of all parties.
“I Prabowo Subianto wish you a Happy National Labor Day May 1 2024. May all workers in Indonesia and the extended family of workers progress, become more prosperous, more unified, united to fight together towards a Golden Indonesia,” said Prabowo in a video recording broadcast by the team media in Jakarta, Wednesday (1/5).
“Let’s build a better future for all Indonesian citizens, all workers, all laborers and their families so that our children and grandchildren will experience an even greater Golden Indonesia,” continued Prabowo, who is also the Indonesian Minister of Defense. .
It is known that May 1 is celebrated every year as International Workers’ Day or May Day.
In Indonesia, May 1 has officially become part of the national holiday since the reign of the Sixth President of the Republic of Indonesia, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY).
Workers’ rights were successfully fought for thanks to the mass action of labor groups, including the policy of working hours of 8 hours a day, decent wages as stipulated in minimum wage standards, including in Indonesia the provision of holiday allowances (THR) which were also fought for by labor groups.

In Jakarta, the mass action commemorating May Day 2024 is estimated to be attended by more than 10,000 people from various confederations and trade unions.
