Kannauj: All political parties have started preparing the strategy for Lok Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh. Bahujan Samaj Party and Mayawati are preparing their separate strategies. Mayawati has declared Akil Ahmed Patta as Bahujan Samaj Party candidate from Kannauj. With the candidature of Akil Ahmed Patta, Bahujan Samaj Party has so far announced the names of candidates for four out of 80 Lok Sabha seats in UP. All these candidates are Muslims. In UP politics, Akhilesh Yadav has decided to contest the Lok Sabha elections under the politics of PDA i.e. Backward Dalit Minority. All the political parties are seen trying to help the minority class. BJP is setting its eyes on minority women and Pasmanda vote bank. At the same time, like in the previous elections, SP’s claim is once again on the Muslim vote bank. At the same time, Mayawati is trying to get her share in this vote bank. Congress is also making a similar effort. In such a situation, Mayawati seems to be taking the lead with the announcement of the names of the candidates. Mayawati has bet on A politics in response to Akhilesh’s PDA. This minority move by Mayawati will increase the troubles of Akhilesh, who is leading the opposition alliance, in the election field.

After UP elections 2022, Akhilesh kept being cornered on issues ranging from Azam Khan to Irfan Solanki. Akhilesh has now been trying to cultivate this class. Many questions were raised on Akhilesh Yadav’s silence in these matters. It was claimed that the Muslim community is angry with SP President Akhilesh Yadav. In this situation, efforts are being made by other parties to tap the Muslim vote bank. Now Mayawati seems to be trying to consolidate her share on the vote bank of this class. In such a situation, his strategy may overshadow Akhilesh Yadav.
There was a possibility of Akhilesh Yadav contesting the Lok Sabha elections from Kannauj Lok Sabha seat. Meanwhile, there is a possibility of fragmentation in the opposition vote bank due to the announcement of Bahujan Samaj Party candidate. Bharatiya Janata Party has already fielded sitting MP Subrata Pathak from Kannauj. With the BSP candidate entering the electoral fray, the contest is expected to be triangular between BJP, SP and BSP.
Four candidates of BSP so far
BSP has announced another candidate for the Lok Sabha elections. Before making Akil Ahmed Patta the candidate from Kannauj, three candidates have been announced. Mayawati has fielded former minister Anil Ahmed Khan Phool Babu from Pilibhit. Earlier, names of BSP candidates have been declared in Amroha and Moradabad. Mujahid Hussain has got the ticket from Amroha and Irfan Saifi from Moradabad. Thus far, all four candidates announced are from the Muslim community. This is being seen as a special strategy of Mayawati. Even in the UP Assembly elections 2022, Mayawati had given a large number of tickets to the Muslim community. An announcement in this regard was made by Mayawati. However, this time ticket allotment has been started without announcement.

Opposition alliance may be in danger

BSP may not have got any benefit from Mayawati giving Muslim candidate in UP elections 2022. However, SP had to bear its loss. Even in the by-election of Azamgarh Lok Sabha seat, SP candidate Dharmendra Yadav had to face defeat only because of this. In such a situation, this strategy of Mayawati may cause the most tension to Akhilesh.
