There will be a comedy scene in the Arya-starrer Chettai. In it, the ringing of the house bell is heard when Arya talks to Santhanam and Premji for a long time. Then Santhanam said, “Look, someone has come, go and open the door.” Immediately Premji would say to him, “It was the calling bell that rang when you came.”

There are many such cases of late delivery of parcels or sending emails and SMS. But a letter sent 27 years ago has arrived. But the twist is who owns the letter.

This event happened recently in Willem, Northumberland, England. According to London’s Hexham Courant, a 60-year-old man named John Rainbow received the 27-year-old letter on January 13.

John Rainbow is surprised to find this letter in his home post box. Because the letter had a stamp printed in 1995. When he saw it, John guessed that it must be a letter sent to people who had lived in the same house for 10-15 years before.

It has been revealed that the letter was sent from Bridgwater in Somerset, England on August 3, 1995. Speaking about this, John Rainbow said, “It is an old letter but it is in perfect condition. If you look at it, it is not the same as you have been to different places all these years. But what is surprising is that we have nothing to do with the addressees of this letter.” He has said.

He continued, “My wife and I moved to this house in 2015. The letter was sent to Valerie Jarvis, a woman who lived in the same house until 2010. By the time she was here, the woman would have been old. Probably dead. But it will be good for the senders of the letter to know that it has finally arrived.” John said.

Man finally receives letter 27 years after it was sent

A spokesperson for Royal Mail, the company that sent the letter, said: “Events like this rarely happen. But the reason for the delay in this letter is not known.” John’s neighbor Deanna Robinson said that Valerie Jarvis’ husband had previously served in the First World War.

Accordingly, we can learn that Valerie’s family has been living in that house in Willem since 1880.
