This could be the end of an era, as Microsoft calls time on the legendary $1 Xbox Game Pass promotion.
Xbox Game Pass is a subscription service similar to Microsoft’s previous Netflix, offering hundreds of games for a relatively low monthly fee. Instead of spending thousands of dollars on several full-price AAA titles, Xbox Game Pass starts at $10 per month and, at higher tiers, comes with Xbox Cloud streaming access for games on the go.
Since the launch of Xbox Game Pass, new users have been offered to try the service for $1 per month, but over the weekend, users started noticing (via xgp.pl) that long-term advertising pricing had gone.

Instead, it ties directly into the existing three tiers of $10 per month for Xbox Game Pass on console, $10 per month for Xbox Game Pass on PC, or $15 per month for Xbox Cloud Gaming access. The change appears to be global, with no sign of the $1 promotion tier appearing in any country we tested.

We’ve reached out to Microsoft to confirm whether or not this is a bug, but I suspect the company may have called time on promotion as the service matured. Microsoft is slowly rolling out Xbox Game Pass to families and friends, offering five Xbox Game Pass Ultimate accounts for around $25. So, access to Xbox Game Pass is cheaper than ever.
