Regarding his aspiration‌ to lead⁢ the orange⁣ party, he commented that he is trying to ⁤build a unity candidacy.

“I believe that the unit It ⁣is a premise that we always⁣ try‌ to build in politics. I believe that it must always be ⁤done with‌ all possible respect for other aspirations, for whoever wants to express themselves. But that is the‌ scenario,” commented Álvarez Máynez.

Interview between Time.news Editor and Jorge ‌Álvarez Máynez

Editor (E): ⁢Good afternoon, Jorge. Thank you for joining⁢ us today. You’ve recently announced your aspiration to lead the Movimiento Ciudadano ⁣(MC). What motivated ⁣you to pursue this⁢ role at such a pivotal time?

Jorge Álvarez Máynez (JAM): Good afternoon, and thank you for having me. I believe‌ that MC is at one ⁤of its strongest moments in history. It’s a ‍political force that not only recognizes⁢ Mexico’s potential ⁤but also the pressing issues we ⁤face. My motivation stems from a desire to lead us in addressing these challenges and to unify our party for a successful⁣ future.

E: You mentioned building a ‍unity candidacy. Can‌ you elaborate on how you envision achieving this‍ within MC and amongst opposition parties?

JAM: Absolutely. Unity is essential in politics, especially now. I think ‍it’s critical to respect the ⁢aspirations of others, while‍ still working towards a shared goal. I want to create an environment⁢ where all voices within the party can be ‍heard. We have to come together, not just within MC, but also find common ground with other opposition parties. It’s about⁤ focusing‍ on ‍shared values and a collective agenda.

E: That ‍brings us to your criticism of‍ other opposition parties. You stated that ‌they are often reactive rather than purposeful. How does MC plan to differentiate ‍itself from that approach?

JAM: The key difference is⁤ our⁢ proactive mindset. We aim to ‍be an alternative‍ that ⁢focuses on solutions rather than merely responding to the issues at hand. Our vision is to center people and their causes in our⁣ agenda. We cannot afford to hope for the country’s failure as a means to gain power; that only harms our society. Instead, we must work constructively, with integrity and a clear plan.

E: ‍ What specific goals or ⁤policies do ⁢you hope to pursue if you succeed in your leadership ⁣aspiration, especially in light of upcoming elections?

JAM: In the immediate term, we‍ aim to secure our strongholds in Nuevo León and Jalisco and ensure that the justice promised in Campeche is realized by 2027. ⁣Additionally, we strive to challenge the traditional dominance of⁤ the ‌PRI and PAN, particularly ⁤in Tlaxcala, where we successfully became ‌the second political force. It’s crucial to present ourselves not just as a viable alternative but⁤ as a trusted leader for‌ the people.

E: As we look ahead to ⁢2024, what do you believe is⁢ the most pressing issue for the⁣ citizens of Mexico, and how can MC address it?

JAM: The most pressing issue⁢ is restoring trust⁢ in governance and⁣ addressing socioeconomic disparities. Citizens need to feel that their voices and concerns ⁤are being considered. We can address this by ‌building policies that are community-driven, focusing on ‍transparency, and engaging ⁤directly with the electorate. We want to ensure that our agenda is reflective of their⁢ needs and aspirations.

E: ⁢Jorge, what message do you want to send to the electorate as you embark on this ⁢journey?

JAM: I want the electorate to know that MC is committed⁢ to ⁢a future where every individual plays a vital role. We⁢ believe in the power of ⁢unity, integrity, and forward-thinking⁢ solutions. Together, we ‌can⁢ create a Mexico that not only acknowledges its challenges but actively works towards transforming them into opportunities ‌for all.

E: ‍Thank ⁣you, Jorge.‍ Your insights into the direction of Movimiento ⁣Ciudadano are enlightening, and‍ we look forward to seeing how ⁤your‌ vision unfolds in the coming‍ months.

JAM: Thank you ‍for the opportunity to share my perspective. ‌I appreciate it!
