Mayor highlights attention to 1,500 users in senior homes in Álvaro Obregón

So far this year, 1,500 active users have been served in the 9 houses for the elderly in the mayor’s office Alvaro Obregon.

This was reported by Mayor Lía Limón, during the ninth day of care for older adults and people with disabilities, where they were provided with legal and psychological advice, alternative medicine, geriatric massages, haircuts, image design, human rights and job opportunities.

“Caring for the elderly will always be a priority for the government I lead, as they have dedicated their lives to caring for their children and grandchildren and now it is our turn. Therefore, we work to ensure that they receive good care and have decent and safe spaces to live in,” said the mayor.

The mayor highlighted that during 2024, in the Senior Citizens’ Homes that exist in the district, more than 24,500 services have been provided, such as physical and recreational activities; dance classes; preventive health actions; as well as talks, courses and workshops.

So far this year, there have been two Aqua-Zumba classes, a mega physical activation class, a mega Yoga class, a regional dance presentation, a mega Taichi class, entrepreneurship days and sexuality workshops; all in favor of dignified and active aging.

During Lía Limón’s administration at the head of the mayor’s office, more than 3 thousand senior citizens have received services such as: medical consultations, hairdressing, beauty treatments, massages, yoga as well as courses to learn how to use electronic devices such as tablets and cell phones, among others.
