After his presentation at the table for peace and governance ‘With Regional Punche in Metropolitan Lima’, the mayor of La Molina, Diego Uceda, denounced that he is the victim of death threats by land traffickers for the construction of the fence perimeter, which the Constitutional Court ordered to destroy, this being the only thing that protects the ecological park.

“I have received death threat calls on more than six occasions because I confront land traffickers. From the moment I went out to defend the Ecological Park, the traffickers from Villa María del Triunfo began with threats, but when one seeks the common good and is there to serve and not serve oneself, one has nothing to fear”, he highlighted.

He explained that in La Molina they have areas such as Rinconada del Lago and La Planicie that adjoin Pachacamac, Cieneguilla and San Juan de Miraflores. And the Ecological Park used to measure 600 hectares, but now only 200 because it has 400 invaded hectares.

On the other hand, during his presentation he urged that the construction of the tunnel that will unite five districts of Lima be prioritized: La Molina, Surco, San Borja, Surquillo and Miraflores.

“The central highway is a hot topic and I don’t want to miss out on the opportunity to make Lima a world power by putting the punch in it and developing the great project of the La Molina-Miraflores tunnel, which remained in the corner of memories. It is a 10-kilometer plan that begins at Raúl Ferrero avenue, crosses below Cerro Centinela and exits through the Palestinian Arab Club”, he highlighted.

He said that it will be interconnected with the expressway and you can go directly to the airport, using the Costa Verde, and it is also interconnected with the La Molina, Cieneguilla highway and it takes advantage of the fact that Pachacamac has a magnificent highway that interconnects with Manchay.

He added that a good transport system can improve people’s quality of life, stimulate the economy and contribute to a more sustainable and healthy future. Unquestionably, Lima has a deficit in both public transport services and infrastructure. Both issues must be addressed urgently and responsibly.

“In the ring road there is a third stage, it is a project to join Separadora Industrial avenue and a small bridge that crosses Evitamiento, so that it joins Los Quechuas avenue and reaches Canada,” he added.
