In light of the state of the war in Ukraine, the mayor of Rehovot, Rahamim Malul, wrote an urgent letter to the Minister of Aliyah and Absorption, MK Pnina Temano Sheta and the acting chairman of the Jewish Agency, Yaakov Hagoel – in which he stated that the Rehovot municipality is ready to receive immigrants. :
“We are very worried about the fate of our brothers in the Jewish community in Ukraine, in light of the war that broke out there. There are many immigrants from all over the world, and it is important for us to remind you that the Rehovot municipality and the city’s absorption department are willing to absorb all Jews Mercy Malul, in his letter.
Copies of the letter were sent to his deputy, Zohar Blum, and to the director of the municipal absorption department, Ms. Ilana Tavorisky.
It should be noted that the Minister of Absorption, MK Pnina Tamano Sheta, received the letter and responded with “Yashar Koach.”
