Introduction to secondary science learning methods for integrated science
On the 18th, Mbest’s science instructor, Jangpung, appeared on Channel A’s “Please Give Me Grades” episode 22 and introduced integrated science preparation methods.
The contestant in this episode was a third-year middle school student living in Jangsu-gun, Jeollabuk-do, and was a model student who always ranked first in a school with only four students. The challenging student’s goal was to enter a medical school through the special admission process for rural and fishing villages and become a doctor. He hoped to escape his current environment and enter a school with a conducive learning atmosphere.
The cast members checked the students’ usual learning process and habits and recommended that they focus on strengthening their basic skills rather than changing their environment.
Instructor Jang Poong said, “When studying, you should organize the concepts first and then solve problems,” and “80% of the midterm exams in the first semester of the first year of high school are middle school science content, and especially in the case of the science unit in the second semester of the third year of middle school, you learn concepts related to the integrated science of the first year of high school, so a solid understanding of the concepts is important in the middle school curriculum.” He also suggested a science memorization method and a learning method using the ‘science memorization app’ through 1:1 interviews with students.
