According to the newspaper País, McAfee committed suicide in prison, the body was found right in the cell. The doctors who arrived at the scene tried to resuscitate, but their actions were unsuccessful.
On October 15 last year, McAfee wrote on social media that he was not going to commit suicide. He stated that he has friends and he is happy with everything.
