McDonald’s is revisiting its classic McDonaldland characters with a new meal.
The fast-food giant is rolling out the McDonaldland Meal, which becomes available today, August 12, 2025. This nostalgic offering brings back beloved characters from the fictional McDonaldland universe. Here’s what you need to know about the limited-time meal.

The McDonaldland Meal is designed as an immersive experience, aiming to tap into the past to create a modern connection for fans. Jennifer “JJ” Healan, McDonald’s VP of U.S. Marketing, Brand, Content & Culture, noted that while fans have responded enthusiastically to characters like Grimace and the Hamburglar, many younger consumers are unaware of the wider McDonaldland lore.
“There’s an entire magical world of McDonaldland filled with characters, places and lore,” Healan stated in a previous release. “And so, for the first time in decades, we are taking fans on a trip to McDonaldland with an immersive experience that taps into the past to create the future.”
What’s Inside the McDonaldland Meal?
The McDonaldland Meal offers customers a choice of either a Quarter Pounder with cheese or a 10-piece Chicken McNuggets. Accompanying the main course are fries and the new Mt. McDonaldland Shake. The meal also includes one of six collectible tins, each featuring a classic McDonald’s character.
The Mt. McDonaldland Shake
The flavor of the Mt. McDonaldland Shake was initially a mystery but is now confirmed to be berry-flavored. It’s inspired by the volcano from McDonaldland’s fictional world.
According to the company’s website, the shake is described as having “hints of berry flavor and colorful, cloud-like pink Dairy Whipped Topping made with real cream.” It is said to have “erupted from one of Grimace Island’s thick shake volcanoes.”
For further details, the meal is available at select McDonald’s locations nationwide for a limited time.
