McKinsey investigation: for Bardella, “Macron has entrusted France to liquidators”

by time news

The president of the RN, Jordan Bardella, estimates this Friday that “Emmanuel Macron has entrusted France to liquidators”. However, he does not question the immunity of the Head of State after the announcement of the opening of judicial information on the role of consulting firms during his 2017 and 2022 campaigns.

“Emmanuel Macron has handed France over to liquidators, predators from above and predators from below,” the party leader told Franceinfo. He added that the consulting firms in question “do not work in the interest of the French nation and the French people”.

The MEP recalled that, according to a Senate report, published in March 2022, private firms like McKinsey “benefited from major public contracts”, while “we know that McKinsey, in any case McKinsey executives, had voluntarily helped Emmanuel Macron during his presidential campaign.

“De Gaulle would not have put the French health crisis in the hands of private firms”

For him, “this case is part of a somewhat more global phenomenon”. “We know very well that there are links between Emmanuel Macron and these American private firms”, he said, citing the sale of Alstom to General Electrics or the Uber files and the role of Emmanuel Macron in the establishment of Uber in France, when he was Minister of the Economy.

“I do not believe that General De Gaulle’s France would have put the French health crisis in the hands of private firms”, still regretted Jordan Bardella. He nevertheless considered that there was “no reason to question presidential immunity”, which means that the president cannot testify or be the subject of prosecution during his term of office.

The National Financial Prosecutor’s Office announced Thursday that it had opened two judicial inquiries at the end of October. One is aimed in particular at the head of “reduction of accounting elements in a campaign account”, the other relates to a possible “favoritism and concealment of favouritism”.
