Electoral campaigns follow one another and, sometimes, are similar. In 2012, the enemy who, according to François Hollande, had no face had a name: Goldman Sachs. Marine Le Pen described the American investment bank as the incubator of the “oligarchy” which, according to her, had taken power in Europe. In 2017, it was Rothschild, former employer of Emmanuel Macron, who had the honors of the controversy, soon replaced by BlackRock, the first asset manager in the world, the alleged instigator of the (aborted) pension reform. The paranoid syndrome is always the same: supposed infiltration of the public sphere by private or foreign interests, tax optimization, cronyism and big money.
