Scott McTominay delivers the Red Devils
Established in midfield in the absence of Casemiro (suspended), Scott McTominay perfectly replaced the Brazilian this Saturday afternoon. The Scot was strong in duels and clean in transmissions. Above all, it was he who made the difference in the first half by unleashing a powerful shot with his right foot in the penalty area, on a service from Jadon Sancho, to deceive Jordan Pickford and thus put his team on the right track. (36e). A great performance!
Anthony Martial, decisive entry
If he started on the bench of substitutes, Anthony Martial nevertheless managed to stand out this Saturday afternoon, on the lawn of Old Trafford. Entering the game on the hour mark, he scored the goal of the break at the 71e minute of play with a cross shot on the ground with the right foot, on a serve from Marcus Rashford. And with the injury of the latter, the French could well have more playing time in the coming weeks.

Bruno Fernandes at ease
Positioned a notch lower than usual (as against Brentford), next to Scott McTominay, Bruno Fernandes was particularly comfortable this Saturday afternoon. With the game ahead of him, the Portuguese entertained his attacking partners, especially through long millimeter air balls. We could well see him again in this new role in the coming weeks.

Jordan Pickford (almost) impassable
What a performance! In the first half, Jordan Pickford was overstretched by the Manchester United strikers. And until the 36e minute of play, and Scott McTominay’s opener, the British goalkeeper was literally impassable, making several high-class saves, notably against Antony and Marcus Rashford. He alone kept his team in the game for a long time. Unfortunately for him – and for the Toffees – his teammates, especially in defense, were not at his level this Saturday.

Flops
Ben Godfrey in (great) pain
He lived through an ordeal. Established on the left side of the defense of Everton, Ben Godfrey suffered enormously against Antony. The Briton was often taken behind his back by the calls – and the speed – of the Brazilian. He was also in difficulty when hitting the ball at the foot of the Mancunian right winger. It is therefore quite logical that Sean Dyche decided to take him out at the break, bringing in his place a real specialist in the position, Vitaliy Mikolenko. A game to forget for the British central defender.
Seamus Coleman in the hard
Everton’s other full-back also had a tough game. At the 71e minute of play, on a long aerial ball, the Irishman completely missed his control. He thus allowed Marcus Rashford to recover the leather and serve Anthony Martial, alone in the penalty area, who did not miss this opportunity to make the break.
Marcus Rashford hit
Strongman of Manchester United for several months, Marcus Rashford could well be absent for the next matches. Indeed, in the last quarter of an hour of play, on a race, the Briton apparently suffered a muscle injury (79e). He immediately demanded the change.
