Organized at the initiative of the Royal Yacht Club of M’diq (RYCM), this nautical event sees the participation of the majority of national clubs affiliated to the Royal Moroccan Sailing Federation (FRMV).

The official competitions of this regatta, which has become an essential sporting event for sailboat enthusiasts, continue for two days, with a final marked by the holding of many events including all categories.

This regatta is an opportunity for the creation of a space for exchange, the refinement of the technical skills of the participants, as well as the contribution to the influence and tourism promotion of the prefecture of M’diq-Fnideq.

In a statement to MAP, the technical director of the RYCM, Hamid Senhaji, said that this competition is one of the most important at the national level, which continues to attract a large number of Moroccan champions who distinguish themselves in this sporting category.

This tournament reserved exclusively for mixed light sailing, includes four categories, namely the Optimist category (minimals and juniors), ILCA 4 (cadet) and ILCA 6.7 (open to all age groups), explained M .Senhaji.

Regarding the difference between these categories, the technical director indicated that it is linked to the size of the sailboat, which regulates the age of the participant and the weight of the solo dinghy, emphasizing that the nautical club pays particular attention to youngest participants.

This event, he continued, sees the participation of the Yacht Club of Tangier, the Yacht Club of Mohammedia, the Yacht Club of Agadir (YCA), the Royal Marine Club in Casablanca, the DALIA association of water sports, as well as the Royal Navy club in M’diq.
