Overview of training participants

As usual, as a prelude to the work of the International Bar Conference (CIB), the International Center in Africa for the Training of French-speaking Lawyers (CIFAF) started a continuing education session this Monday, November 27, 2023 in Liège, Belgium. towards French-speaking lawyers. It was the director of CIFAF, President Jacques A. Migan, who personally launched these two-day activities, bringing together both Europeans (Switzerland – Belgium) and Africans (Cameroon – DRC – Rwanda – Togo). – Senegal…) or Americans (Quebec or Haiti).

The International Bar Conference (CIB) is the Congress bringing together all the Bars of French-speaking legal inspiration and expression. In the obligation to perpetuate with its tradition established since 2000, by constantly training the lawyer in the face of the constant evolution of the Law, the CIFAF of Me Jacques Migan is holding a continuing training session for French-speaking lawyers in Belgium . “The law is constantly evolving. It is therefore our professional and ethical duty to constantly train ourselves,” underlined former President Jacques Migan in his opening speech.

For him, one of the roles of CIFAF is “to support the different Bars in meeting this requirement”. This training session focuses on two themes: European law and digital law. The different modules will address, among other things, the recognition of judicial decisions in European law; the legal framework for Artificial Intelligence; the particularities of dispute resolution in the IT field; the particularities of the protection of personal data; the effectiveness of the defense of whistleblowers in an environment lacking appropriate legislation for legal protection and national and international instruments and mechanisms for the protection of whistleblowers.

During the start of work

These different modules will be led by experienced trainers from Europe, Africa and America. The latter were chosen by the CIFAF, the CIB, the CNB and the Bars of Liège, Paris, Hauts de Seine, Pontoise (France), Quebec, Cameroon, Benin and the DRC. This training is also an opportunity to pay, according to Me Migan, International Center in Africa for the Training of French-speaking Lawyers (CIFAF), a deserved tribute to Maître David Lévy, lawyer at the Paris Bar for their contribution to the evolution of CIFAF .
