Appropriate measures are being taken to organize the evacuation to our country of Azerbaijani citizens injured as a result of the crash today of a plane belonging to Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC in the city of Aktau and currently undergoing treatment in Aktau, if necessary and on the basis of the consent of doctors.
This was stated at a meeting of the State Commission to investigate the causes of the plane crash held today, chaired by Prime Minister Ali Asadov, Day.Az reports.
It was emphasized that constant close contacts and joint efforts are being carried out at the level of government members with Kazakh colleagues to provide the necessary assistance to the victims and resolve other issues arising from this. The members of the commission were given instructions to carry out relevant work within their competence.
Let us remind you that today an Embraer 190 passenger plane flying on the Baku-Grozny route crashed 3 km from Aktau airport. The Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan reported that there were 37 Azerbaijani citizens on board the plane that crashed in the city of Aktau.
“According to preliminary data, there were 37 citizens of Azerbaijan, 6 citizens of Kazakhstan, 3 citizens of Kyrgyzstan, and 16 citizens of Russia on board the plane,” the ministry said in a statement.
According to AZAL, there were 62 passengers, 5 crew members and a total of 67 people on board the Embraer 190 flight from Baku to Grozny that crashed in the city of Aktau.
In connection with the plane crash on December 26, mourning was declared in Azerbaijan.
