New Delhi: Trinamool Congress MP Nathimul Haque raised the issue of Chinese loan sharks cheating people in the states. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said:
I have held several consultative meetings with officials from the Central Bank and Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Companies Affairs in the last 6-7 months on the issue of Chinese loan sharks harassing and deceiving people. Many apps are used incorrectly. The matter has been brought to the attention of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. Concerted efforts are being made to control such apps. The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology issues directives to control these apps that harm people.
RBI, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and Union Ministry of Finance are taking efforts to ensure that no app cheats people. This is what he said.
