NATO’s Joint Support and Enabling Command (JSEC), which has been the alliance’s command center since 2018 and is based in the southern German city of Ulm, is developing plans to deploy NATO forces across Europe and strengthen them in the event of conflict.

As Day.Az reports with reference to RBC, unnamed officials told the Financial Times about this.

This process will build on the experience Western militaries will gain from the Steadfast Defender military exercise. Their main stage began on February 1 and will last until May 31. The largest military exercise since the Cold War, involving more than 90,000 troops, simulates a large-scale conflict in NATO’s east.

According to a British military intelligence spokesman quoted by the FT, “we are living in truly dangerous times.” [и] at a time when large-scale conflict is more likely than ever in recent history.” The publication’s interlocutor said this on the eve of the Munich Security Conference, which takes place on February 16-18. The event is held annually, bringing together representatives of Western military, security services, and intelligence agencies, as well as experts in the defense industry.
