MediaTek has announced the Dimensions 6100+, a new mid-range processor model, with moderate performance but with 5G. It is a model that abounds in what the Dimensity 6020 and 6080 offer, but with a 4nm lithography from TSMC, so it will have advantages in the field of consumption. The CPU part remains as two Cortex-A76 at 2.2 GHz and six Cortex-A55 at 2 GHz.
As for the iGPU, it is a 950 MHz dual-core Mali-G57, which will still be able to move 120 Hz screens, mainly to make the interface fluid. It has Bluetooth 5.1, NFC and Wi-Fi 802.11ac. It can also handle cameras up to 108 Mpx, and records video at up to 2K and 30 f/s, which in this case is true 2K (2048 × 1080 pixels), and not the QHD resolution (2560 × 1440 pixels) at which lots of people mistakenly call it 2K.
This processor will arrive in a phone that will go on sale in this third quarter.
