Medical brigades from the Ministry of Public Health (MSP) together with other state portfolios: Ministry of Economic and Social Inclusion, Risk Management Secretariat, Technical Secretariat of Chronic Malnutrition and Ministry of Housing moved by river in four boats to the islets of the Gulf of Guayaquil.

Four Comprehensive Health Care Teams (EAIS) provided medical care in Puerto Roma, Puerto La Cruz, Puerto Salinas, and Santo Domingo to approximately 149 people, including minors, women, and the elderly.

The most common diseases found were gastrointestinal, respiratory and skin, typical of the winter stage.

The Primary Care Technicians shared with the community the prevention measures for leptospirosis, dengue and typhoid. As well as the importance of correct hand washing and food hygiene before consuming them.

In Puerto Roma, they made a home visit to a pregnant woman whose blood pressure was affected by the earthquake, which was controlled and stabilized. And three people with blows and minor injuries to the lower and upper extremities as a result of a fall.

The MSP brigades will continue to visit the islets of the Gulf to provide medical care, guaranteeing the health of the population in sectors that are difficult to access.
