“My father and mother would have wanted me to become a doctor.” Remo Ranzuglia, on the other hand, chose to be an engineer and worked for years in the industrial prefabrication and energy sector, but today, although in a different way, he satisfies his parents’ aspiration by creating the Medica center, a new health center in Piediripa di Macerata. A significant investment with which important services are offered to citizens without neglecting their values of medical evolution also from a social point of view. It was Remo Ranzuglia himself who illustrated the MedicaCare project: “We want the center to have a positive impact on society and on the egalitarian possibility of care. We will make the resources of the center (diagnostic technologies, outpatient and physiotherapy) available to those who are not economically able.”

The new structure, modern and equipped with all comforts, has been operational since April but was inaugurated on Saturday with a well-attended open-air ceremony and then a visit to the premises, blessed by Cardinal Edoardo MenichelliThe many guests were welcomed by the well-known of Marco Santini’s violin. Then she went up on stage Gaia De Laurentis, actress and godmother of the event. “In a sector like healthcare, the difference is made by the way patients are treated. The goal of the center will be precisely to ensure that sensitivity and care,” he said before giving the floor to the heads of the various areas.

Roberto Nalli, director of the facility, illustrated the characteristics of the center: “It is divided into three macro areas, the diagnostic one that allows access to the 3 Tesla magnetic resonance, unique in the Marche, to a 1.5 resonance and a 128-slice CT, double resonance. We then have a traditional radiology table, eco color Doppler, dedicated ultrasounds, 3D mammograms with tomosynthesis and Opt cone beam. Then there is the multi-specialist area with prestigious figures in each field and the rehabilitation unit with swimming pools and gym. These three areas in dialogue with each other give completeness to the structure. The goal is to work a lot as a team and to train a young team as we have been doing since May”.
And among the first to experiment with the 3 Tesla is Lorenzo Baldassari, a driver from Montecosaro who gave his testimony during the inaugural ceremony: “For me, as a motorcycle racer, the right wrist is of fundamental importance. After the fracture, we did this check last week and now I hope to be able to race in Cremona.”

The diagnostic section is headed by Dr. Francesco Asteggiano, who came to the Marche from Lombardy for love: “In the Medica center we provide the most advanced diagnostics available in the Marche region supported by qualified doctors. After a long period in the Lombardy healthcare system, I propose a different model, still private but with a strong focus on the patient. When I worked in Lombardy, it often happened that I treated patients who came from all over Italy and in particular from the south. What we would like to borrow instead is not to move patients from the Marche region to the north but to offer the same opportunities here”.
In such a difficult period for the youngest and with increasing pathologies for the adolescent age group, the attention to these problems could not be missing in the center. The section will be structured by Dr. Ignazio Ardizzone, child neuropsychiatrist of Umberto I, who will bring his experience to Medica. “I believe emotional health is very important. In the growth phase in which boys and girls are exposed to new emotions such as anger, envy and shame, it is necessary to reflect on what we have done in the past and how we have fueled consumerism, for example. The age at which problems such as eating disorders and self-harm appear is increasingly younger, treatment must often be done in an emergency but then must continue for a long time. I would like to give an answer to this need here, taking care of the youngest in a therapeutic alliance with the school, parents and the community”. The section will be directed by Dr. Paolo Scapellato and Dr. Ardizzone will also be part of it.
Also present was the mayor of Macerata Sandro Parcaroli («Here stands a cutting-edge medical center and where there is a firm and outstretched hand towards patients, the sun rises, Remo Ranzuglia is an entrepreneur but above all a dreamer»), the first citizen of the nearby Corridonia Giuliana Giampaoli («Families need to be supported and, when it comes to health, they need answers quickly and they find them here») and the mayor of Treia Franco Capponi («Remo Ranzuglia, like me, is from Treia and the fact that he deals with this sector does him credit. There is an ever-increasing need for prevention. If there is no prevention, healthcare cannot hold up. This is why we need quick and quality diagnoses»).
Also attending the inauguration were Enrico Falistocco, CEO of the Fisiomed associates group, the director of the Fenice center Alberto Gagliardi, the director of Diagnostica Marche in Osimo, Mauro Bruglia and a representative of the Kos group: “We invited our competitors,” explains Ranzuglia, “because competition cannot exist in this sector.”
